AI & your data
Looz uses AI in two places, both of them optional, and both of them under your control. Here is exactly what happens.
Three places AI shows up — and one that isn't AI at all.
Smart Paste
You paste a class message, screenshot or flyer — or forward the email to your family's Looz address. AI reads it and drafts events or tasks for you to review.

Ask Looz
You ask a question about your week. The answer is built only from your family's own plan.

Conflict detection
Clashes, unassigned rides and school closures with no plan are found by ordinary logic in our own code — not AI.

What AI can and can't see.
What AI can access
Only the content of the request you make: the text or image you paste, or the slice of your plan needed to answer your question. It has no standing access to your family space.
Who processes it
Requests are processed by the AI providers behind the Base44 platform — currently large-model providers including Google, OpenAI and Anthropic — as processors acting on our instructions.
No model training
Your family's data is never used to train AI models, ours or our providers'. There is no opt-in for this because we don't do it.
Retention
AI requests are processed and returned. We keep what you choose to save in your plan; provider-side request logs are short-lived and governed by their processor terms.
Does AI see my children's information?
Only within a request you make. If the class message you paste mentions your child's name, that name goes with the request so the event can be drafted correctly. If you ask "who's picking up Maya tomorrow", the relevant part of your plan goes with the question. Nothing else is sent, nothing is shared with other families, and none of it is used for advertising or training.
If you would rather not use AI at all, you can simply not use Smart Paste or Ask Looz — every part of Looz works without them.
